Trouble from the beginning, June 3, 2011 By This review is from: Friedrich SS14M10 (Kitchen) The little flashing Wrench keeps appearing, Service tells me it's the cover not being positioned correctly but not sure that is the issue, the battery went dead afer 3 months and it doesn't cool all that well ! setting up the daily timer couldn't be more confusing..... What a mistake !! Don't buy this one !

Very Happy I got this AC. It works great for me., August 8, 2011 By PaulaOwl (NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Friedrich SS14M10 (Kitchen) I was so surprised to see the negative reviews since I am having a good experience with my Friedrich Kuhl SS14M10 model. One of the negative reviewers refers to Consumer Reports, implying that they gave the air conditioner a negative rating. That is not true, as I found out when I went to their website. The Consumer Reports rating is positive: they gave it a rating of 82 out of 100. In addition, on the page with the Consumer Report rating, three people wrote their own user reviews, with their star ratings being one star, three stars, and four stars, all out of five stars, so that is only one very negative user review out of 3 user reviews. And, just to further clarify, the specific model Consumer Reports rated was the 7,900 model not the 14,000 BTU model, although the features are identical and they look the same.

By Sunday morning the flashing WRENCH icon has appeared and the unit rattles and makes noise. Piece of overpriced junk! WIll return it tomorrow. What a shame. Head over to consumer reports to read about the general unreliability. Shame on me.
